A long summer's night
A long summers night
not a cloud in the sky
I’m sat here in a Parisian cafĂ©
watching the world go by
Strolling along an Italian beach
Plucking out the delicate flowers
Gracefully growing older
hours after hours after hours
Drinking mojitos on the balcony
All inclusive from the bar
sat here outside the restaurant
Watching the late night swimmers from afar.
Holidays are precious and special
cherish every little thing
So get up on the rooftops
Go on and have a sing!

If you look deep in to my heart
If you look deep in to my heart
you will see deep sadness
even if my plastered on smile
appears to show gladness

Fun Friday
Woohoo, it's fun Friday.
The dull week is over and it's time to celebrate with a poetic meme or image.
Today's is: A very random Haiku.
Personally I am not a fan of Haiku's, but any form of peotry that displays human emotion and conveys a message, I truly admire the writer's work.

The Procrastinator's Poem
I would love to write some poetry
but I always tend to procrastinate
Do you think I should write some now?
Oh I can’t be bothered, you will have to wait

daddy's girl
You let go of my fair hand reluctantly
a tear fills your eye
as you know this is the last time
that I am daddy’s little girl
from one man’s hand to another
you feel your job is done
you watch your little girl grow up
and swear to spend her life with someone else
no longer with you
while everyone celebrates
and hugs the blushing bride
you feel all alone
and you feel all your years
you remember all the laughs
and happy times
and your eyes well up with tears
as all the crazy singles
fight each other for the flowers
you sit outside on the step
and reflect for a minutes
however they feel like hours
a glass of champagne “calms” your nerves
the beautiful bride
your daughter, your baby girl
rushes outside
when she realizes
that you’re not by her side
she takes your hand
and strokes your knuckles
and reminds you
that she will always be
daddy’s little girl

Fun Friday
Woohoo, it's fun Friday.
The dull week is over and it's time to celebrate with a poetic meme or image.
Today's is: Moe Szylslak from The Simpsons.
His poem has a harsh and simplistic tone but it works as poetry can be about anything and his poem is good as it is very emotive!
Well done Moe. Might not be everyone's taste but it is good.

Walking along the beautiful coastline
Walking
along the beautiful coastline
on a balmy summer’s night
Hand in hand in Naples,
with my new husband, oh what a delight!
A fresh summers evening
My dress gently rippling in the breeze
We've just left the restaurant
oh so much choice, meat, pasta, cheese
You stroke my hair and call me beautiful
I look deeply in to your eyes, grazi I say grazi,
I feel more special than…
the queen being snapped by paparazzi
We rest our little legs, the beach is our stunning view
You playfully lick my ice cream cone
and I laugh and say I love you
you run your elegant finger down my delicate neck
you give me a tingle and make me feel like no one has before
I smile and look in to your eyes
you grin and look back at me
because when I longingly look at you and you look deep in to me
I know with all my heart as well as you do yours,
that we are meant to be!

I remember the day you came over
I remember the day you came over
I was slumped on the floor
my hair was a mess
in my trackies
my hair was greasy,
my face was pale
and my eyes were red from all the crying
You came over and held me in your arms
You didn’t say anything,
you didn’t bother with “you look nice,”
because we both know
I didn’t
I drifted off in your arms
and you scooped me up
and gently lay me on my bed
I awoke with you stroking my hair
lying there next to me
in the same clothes as last night
I look up and you smile at me
you kiss me on my forehead
and you bring breakfast in bed
and we both snuggle in that ugly brown jumper of mine,
you wrap your arms around my waist
and say “It will get better”
I scooch up closer to you
and believe every damn word you say
because it’s you
nobody else
sweet perfect you
You embrace me
and tell me you love me
in my darkest hour
and when people ask,
how did you know he was the one?
I always say
I remember the day you came over.

The truth behind a sunset
A sunset is rather tragic
It shows the day is dying
the pink sky
shows the day is bleeding
and the elegant, amber sun
is the day’s head
laying down to rest
oh the day is over
It is dead
we should mourn
Next to come is the eerie silence
and the dead, soulless black night
But day,
we shouldn’t cry too much
you gave us sweet memories
and your son will show up bright up and early tomorrow
to take your place
day,
we love thee
day,
we thank thee
day,
we kiss thee
day,
we embrace thee
as we live thee
Oh day,
the real tragedy is,
each magnificent mourn we embrace
is one closer to our own mourn day
and there is no sunrise for us; after our sunset
